DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Restraint - Not recommended in unweaned foals less than 6 months of age.

Contraindication
This product is not recommended for use in foals, due to risk of incorrect dosing and subsequent adverse outcomes.
Avoid consumption of product by dogs.

Side effects
Some horses may experience reactions with swelling and itching shortly after treatment, assumed to be the result of heavy infestations of Onchocerca micro ilariae dying in large numbers. Although signs should resolve in a few days, symptomatic treatment may be desirable. Consult veterinarian if the condition does not improve.

Healing of summer sores involving extensive changes may require other therapy. Fly control will help prevent reinfection.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Dose rate 300μg Ivermectin per kg body weight.

EASYMEC WORMER is formulated in palatable granules which are readily accepted by horses. Calculate the correct dosage for the horse’s body weight.

Mixing directions
Mix the entire dose as per dose rate table below with feed to achieve recommended dose rate of 300μg Ivermectin/ kg live weight. Ensure mixing of entire dose by removing bridle before treatment and preventing spillage or dropping of product during feeding. If the horse does not eat all the medicated feed due to palatability issues, add a small amount of pre-mixed feed or grain (up to 1 kg) with addition of sweeteners such as molasses, sugar, honey to the remaining
feed and mix together and offer to the horse again, until the entire dose is consumed. Failure to consume the entire dose of product may result in decreased efficacy.

If horse continues to refuse to eat their medicated feed consisting of EASYMEC WORMER, then the treatment needs to be discontinued and another treatment should be considered.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS
Each pack contains 6g/kg Ivermectin.

MODE OF ACTION
Ivermectin is a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of endectocides which have a unique mode of action. Compounds of the class bind selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-
gated chloride ion channels which occur in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This leads to an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions with hyperpolarization
of the nerve or muscle cell, resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite. Compounds of this class may also interact with other ligand-gated chloride channels, such as those gated by the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

The margin of safety for compounds of this class is attributable to the fact that mammals do not have glutamate-gated chloride channels, the macrocyclic lactones have a low affinity for other mammalian ligand-gated chloride channels and they do not readily cross the blood-brain barrier.

SUGGESTED PARASITE CONTROL PROGRAM
All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program. As re-infection with worms is common, treatment must be repeated routinely for effective control. Treat all horses every 6-8 weeks depending on the level of pasture manure contamination or as directed by your veterinarian.

 BROAD SPECTRUM
EASyMEC WORMER kills all the important internal parasites of horses, including the arterial stages of S.vulgaris and bots. Because reinfection is common, treatment must be repeated
routinely for effective control.

NOTES TO USER
Resolution of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with EASYMEC WORMER. Reinfection and measures of its prevention should also be reconsidered.

Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve.

WITHHOLDING PERIOD
HORSES (MEAT): DO NOT USE less than 28 days before slaughter for human consumption.
